Bigg Boss 14: Karanvir Bohra supports Rubina Dilaik; says 'Find Salman Khan's humour condescending sometimes'

Mumbai: Former contestant Karanvir Bohra on Wednesday came out in support of Bigg Boss 14's Rubina Dilaik after her altercation with host Salman Khan regarding her husband Abhinav Shukla.

It started when Salman referred to Abhinav as Rubina's 'saamaan' (property) and that did not go down well with the actress.

While she asked the host to not say such things at that time, she later told Bigg Boss that his comments were disrespectful. She even said that the superstar does not know them personally to make such statements and that she is ready to quit the show if they are going to be demeaned on national television.

Soon after the episode was aired, the internet stood divided with one section hailing Rubina for raising her voice against Salman. Another group of people were of the view that she didn't have a sense of humour and was creating a controversy with the host only to gain limelight on the show.

Karanvir Bohra then tweeted that Salman's humour can be condescending and that he sees nothing wrong with Rubina's stand. "With all due respect to Salman bhai's stature as an actor/host ( #BiggBoss2020 ) I'd like to say that, however silly a mistake you make, you don't like to be laughed at or made mockery out of in public (sic)," he wrote.

He continued, "I love, like I really love, Salim Khan saab, Salma Aunty and Helen Aunty...we have known them for years. I have the highest respect for them, which is why I took everything sportingly in the show ( #BiggBoss ) It's in my culture not to speak back to elders, I've been raised that way (sic)."

"But my wife wasn't wrong when she wrote the open letter. She felt, what any wife would feel for their husband, if @RubiDilaik's sentiments are hurt, it's valid.. I'm not watching the show at all but I like Salman Bhai as the host of the show. It's only sometimes I find his humour a little condescending (sic)," he added.

Incidentally, during Karanvir's stint on Bigg Boss 12, Salman Khan used to initially pull the actor's legs for his sartorial choices and his performance in the house. However, his wife Teejay Sidhu then wrote an open letter calling the host out for mocking her husband on national television.
