The people of Jhamta Panchayat, located just 9 km from the district headquarters, are scared of the rising water level of the river. After the release of water from Nepal into the river, the rivers are in spate. Many villages have lost contact with the district headquarters. The whole village has been transformed into an island. People are forced to cross the river risking their lives. The only mode of movement in the village was the Chachari bridge, but it was also swept away by a strong torrent of water.

The villagers say that it was the only Chachari bridge connecting the village. There was a boat in the village, it is also bad. A pool in this village has been in demand for many years. But that demands are not being met. Apart from the flood days, there are also accidents. On the other hand, people who applied to CO did not find the boat. The villagers complain that so far no officials have reached the panchayat for assistance.
