Bihar Floods: Police station washed away in Darbhanga

Darbhanga (Bihar):

The Bihar flood is getting worse with each passing day.

The flood situation in Bihar has inundated 11 districts, affecting the lives of over 15 lakh people. The copious rain in the areas of Bihar and Nepal has caused havoc in the eastern state. People are vacating their homes and heading to a safer place to live and provide for their families.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is carrying out relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. IAF aircraft are being used to air-drop food materials in the severely flood-affected areas. Darbhanga is one of the most affected districts in the state, the flood didn't spare even those who are part of the maintenance of law and order in the district.

The Kushewarsthan Police Station was washed away following incessant rainfall in the area. The police in that area are forced to patrol on boats.

"We have kept everything on the table to prevent them from getting submerged. We go for patrolling in rural areas using boats. We have not received boats from the government yet, we are doing this on our own expense. There is no electricity for the last 3-4 days," ASI Mithlesh was quoted as saying by Times Now.

A local in the district quoted as saying by ANI: "The whole area over here is submerged and the flow of the water is so fast that the speed is constantly increasing."

A total of 22 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are engaged in the rescue operation. The rising water levels are the worrying factor for the locals and the administration as well. As of now, the state is battling with both coronavirus and the flood, the situations are getting worst than ever.
