Bihar Sampark Kranti runs over cattle in Firozabad

Agra: A cattle run over incident reported on the Delhi-Kanpur corridor caused major delays of train operations, including of Tejas and several Rajdhanis, on Monday evening. Some of them were delayed for nearly two hours after Darbhanga-bound Bihar Sampark Kranti express collided with cattle.

The incident took place at 5:30pm near Kaneta village of Makkhanpur police jurisdiction of Firozabad district.

Due to the collision, the train’s locomotive engine lost its power and after nearly two hours, a freight engine was roped in to pull the express train in order to restore the railway operations.

According to railway sources, due to the cattle run over, trains like Lucknow-bound Tejas express, New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani, Bhubaneswar Rajdhani, Patna Rajdhani, Sealdah Rajdhani, Kanpur Shatabdi and Poorva express were stuck. At 7 pm, train operations resumed.
