Bihar triple murder: Tejashwi Yadav stopped from visiting Gopalganj; supporters gather outside his residence

Patna: High voltage drama has been unfolding here at the residence of RJD leader and former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. Tejashwi Yadav had issued an ultimatum to the state government that if JDU MLA Amrendra Pandey, who had been booked in a triple murder case, is not arrested then he would march to Gopalganj along with all his MLA's.

On Sunday, an FIR was lodged against don-turned politician Amrendra Pandey in a triple murder case at Hathua in Gopalganj. Armed assailants attacked local RJD leader JP Yadav, his brother and their parents in Gopalganj. In the attack, Yadav's parents and brother were shot dead while he sustained a bullet injury.

On Friday morning, Tejashwi Yadav, along with his MLAs, tried to match towards Gopalganj but he was stopped by the administration at his gate. Huge teams of police have been deployed at his residence and barricades have also been put up outside his residence. 

Tejashwi Yadav while speaking to media outside his residence said, "At a time when ruling party MLA's are killing people, he fails to understand at to why he is being stopped by the administration to go to Gopalganj. The former deputy CM alleged that JDU MLA Amrendra Pandey's supporters have been violating lockdown norms by taking out motorcycle rallies in Gopalganj but the administration did not take any action against them while RJD MLAs are being stopped citing lockdown norms.

Further, Tejashwi Yadav said that the administration should clarify if he is under house arrest. If not, then why he and his MLAs are being stopped from going to Gopalganj.

RJD MLAs and MLCs including former CM Rabri Devi have been sitting in their cars wanting to go to Gopalganj but the police and BMP jawans have put up barricades stopping them from moving further. City SP Vinay Tiwari said that Tejashwi Yadav has not been given permission for inter-district movement and police personal have been deployed so that no untoward incident takes places. A large crowd has also assembled outside the residence of Tejashwi Yadav, despite lockdown restrictions.
