Bijnor: 18-year-old student commits suicide by consuming poison
BIJNOR: An 18-year-old polytechnic student committed suicide by consuming poison here at Bijnor Railway Station on Monday afternoon. Family members cried foul play in this connection.
They alleged that the student committed suicide in suspicious circumstances and police was showing an apathetic attitude in this regard.
Local and family members set up traffic jam on Nagina Dhampur road to press for their demand.
The student, Manish Kumar, resident of Puraini village, was a student of polytechnic in a Bijnor-based institute. He reached Bijnor railway station on Monday afternoon and consumed poison in suspicious circumstances. When he fell unconscious, local police took cognizance of him and took him to a private hospital but he could not be survived.
Father of the deceased, Bhudev Singh alleged that police did not take the matter seriously and they sent them to their village and no FIR was lodged.

Family members took the body to Puraini village. Later, villagers and aggrieved family put the body of the deceased on national NH-74 and set a traffic jam there.
After getting wind of the situation, circle officer, Archana Singh reached there and tried to modify the agitators.
According to officials, police are probing the matter and further action will be taken.
