BJP to build offices in 15 Tamil Nadu districts

CHENNAI: The BJP plans to set up party offices in all the districts of the state. As part of the party's nationwide programme, the state unit would take up construction of party offices in 15 districts in TN, it was announced on Friday.


Working president of the party J P Nadda will lay foundation stone for the construction works on November 12 at Kamalayam, the state unit's headquarter in Chennai, state general secretary K S Narendran said after attending a review meeting chaired by national general secretary of the party Muralidhar Rao here on Friday.



Thanjavur, Ramnad, Tiruvannamalai , Namakkal, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri were among the 15 districts.

The BJP leadership has decided to construct party offices with conference rooms and accommodation facilities to organise frequent workshops and other party-related activities, he said.

Emphasising on the importance of local body elections, Rao said, "Local body elections are very important for the party to strengthen its leadership at the grass-root level. The state leadership is preparing the strategy."

The party has also formed a reception committee led by senior leaders Vanathi Srinivasan and B T Arasakumar to make arrangements to receive Nadda, who would be visiting TN for the first time after assumed charge as party's working president.
