Body of Chennai engineer found floating in Cauvery river near Mettur
SALEM: The body of an engineer from Chennai was found floating in the Cauvery river near Mettur dam on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as S Karthikeyan, 29, of Chromepet in Chennai. He married Soundarya, 25, three years ago and they got separated after a quarrel.
“Karthikeyan left his home two weeks ago.
He did not return home after that,” the Mettur police said. His parents searched for him everywhere and finally filed a complaint with the Chennai police.
On Wednesday, the Mettur police were alerted that a man’s body was found floating in the river. They retrieved the body and initiated an inquiry.
The police alerted their counterparts in other parts of the state. The Chennai police, who came to know about this this, alerted Karthikeyan’s father, Shanmugam. Shanmugam came to Mettur on Friday and confirmed that the body was that of his son.
