Body of youth found in borewell: Jaipur police

JAIPUR: The Jaipur police on Friday found the sack in which the body of a youth was packed and thrown into a 110-feet-deep borewell in Manoharpur area of the city.

DCP (West) Kavindra Singh Sagar said that the teams digging the pit have spotted legs of the youth which were jutting of the sack. The youth was identified as Rahul Sen (22) native of VKI area.

“The body has yet to be retrieved but we are hopeful that by Saturday early morning we will complete the operation,’ he said.

The VKI police had on Monday got the information Sen was brutally murdered and his was dumped into the borewell and thus began an exercise to retrieve the body.

Local police officers along have been trying to retrieve the body since Monday night. “Sen had gone missing from Vishwakarma Industrial Area (VKI) on September 30. During the investigation of a separate case, we picked up his friends who claimed that they had murdered him and dumped his body into the deep pit,” an official said,

“For past four days we were digging the borewell in Manoharpura village to ascertain if the body was indeed buried there. It was only on Friday late evening that we found some clues that the indeed he was thrown into the pit here,” said an official adding that the police had sought the help of State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) to fish out the body.

Initially Sen’s disappearance case was treated as normal case of missing person until they found that he may have been murdered.
