Bournemouth, Coventry City To Clash In A Crucial EFL Championship Game

Bournemouth will be inviting Coventry for the EFL Championship fixture on Saturday at 7:30 PM IST at the Dean Court. The hosts have acquired the seventh position with 65 points while the visitors have occupied the 20th position with 42 points.

Bournemouth played 39 matches, won 18 games, lost 10 fixtures and had a draw on 11 occasions while Coventry also played as many games, out of which they won 10 games, lost 17 and drew on 12 instances.

Bournemouth will be heading into this game on the back of a 2-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers. Goals from Philip Billing and Arnaut Danjuma sealed the game for their team. The hosts will be aiming to gain those three crucial points on Saturday to get closer to breaking into the top four of the points table.

Coventry City will also enter into this game on a higher note as they beat Bristol 3-1 City in their previous outing. Goals from Viktor Gyoekeres, Leo Ostigard and Matt Godden took their team home.

In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Coventry City has the upper hand as they beat Bournemouth 23 times, lost against them on 17 occasions and drew 10 games. In the previous fixture which took place in October 2020, Bournemouth came out victorious with 3-1. A brace from Dan Gosling and Jefferson Lerma helped Bournemouth to claim the victory comprehensively.

Apart from Lewis Cook’s long-term ACL injury, the home team has no issues ahead of their Saturday’s game.

Ben Sheaf, Jodi Jones and Fankaty Dabo won’t be available for selection for their fixture against Bournemouth. Kyle MacFadzean will be available for selection after serving his suspension for the red card he received against Luton Town. Michael Rose’s inclusion seems doubtful due to a groin injury.
