British national dies in road accident in Bundi

KOTA: A British national in his late 40s was killed on the spot on Sunday evening after a speeding truck, coming in the wrong direction, collided head on with his motorbike on NH–52 near Kishorepura toll plaza under Hindoli police station of Bundi district, resulting in fatal head injuries. He was immediately rushed to the Bundi district government hospital where the doctor declared him brought dead.

The body is in the mortuary for postmortem and the British embassy has been informed.


The deceased was a British national and according to debit card recovered from his possession, he was identified as Rhys Jhon Jenkins, said ASP Bundi.

The British embassy has been communicated about the tragedy and after formalities are over, postmortem would be conducted on Monday, the ASP said, adding efforts are on to access details about deceased.

According to Spanish travel agent accompanying the tourist group , the deceased was an English national belonging to a place near London and was a designer by profession. Four tourists on two motorbikes were riding back to Jaipur from Bundi after site-seeing, when the tragedy struck.

The woman foreigner riding on the bike with him escaped unhurt and was in a deep state of shock to speak anything. The truck driver fled from the spot after the mishap.
