Bus service to connect outskirts to Metro stations

LUCKNOW: Travelling by Metro will be easier now for residents of areas on the outskirts of the city.

A bus service from areas like Gomtinagar Extension, Faizabad Road, Para and Sarojininagar will take passengers to Metro stations near them.

Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will begin the bus services in a week from bus stops in these areas.

The buses will operate from 6am to 9pm. They will not stop anywhere else but at Metro stations.

Commuters will be able to take these buses every half an hour at regular fares. The buses will link with four prominent Metro stations: Charbagh, Indiranagar , Transportnagar and Krishnanagar.

Bus links to Metro stations were operating earlier also but were stopped in June to decongest prominent routes of the city. However, the decision has been changed now to provide relief to commuters and increase footfall in Metro.
