CAA-NRC: Talk between MLA & NRI on women arrest in old city

Hyderabad: A few burka-clad women on Friday began a sit-in protest like Shaheen Bagh at Mughalpura under a specially erected tent at a private premise.

Police detained the peaceful protestors from Mughalpura after which, a man, who said to be from Australia called Mughalpura MLA and asked for the release of his sisters.

When the NRI says: “Kal Raat Me Mere Do Behno Ko Police Wale Leke Chale Gaye. Darussalam Me Phone Kare Koi Response Nahi Aaya,” the MLA replied: “Raat Ko Achanak Kiye, Kisi Ko Bi Ittela Nahi Diye. Hamare Se Pooch Ke Kare Nai, Achanak Kardiye Humko Khud Nai Maloom.”

We have a recorded conversation of Mughalpura MLA and the NRI, in which the MLA can be heard saying: “Jamaat Hai, Jamaat Ko Ittela Dena, Khali Pakde Toich Ittela Dete Kya?”

Tension prevailed in the Moghalpura area near the historic Charminar when police detained a few slogans-shouting youths protesting against the police ”excesses”.

The city has seen a series of flash protest by women during the last few days. The activists have been stressing the need to stage a continuous protest on the lines of Shaheen Bagh in Delhi and other places in Uttar Pradesh.
