CBI court to hear abri demolition case, Kalyan Singh to be accused
Lucknow: As soon as Kalyan Singh, former CM of Uttar Pradesh and former Governor of Rajasthan, returned to active politics, his problems have started increasing. The application to prosecute Kalyan Singh as an accused in the disputed structure demolition case in Ayodhya will be heard in a special CBI court in Lucknow today.
It is worth mentioning that Kalyan Singh returned to active politics in the past. He joined BJP. Before this he was the Governor of Rajasthan. Now in place of him, Kalraj Mishra has been made the Governor of Rajasthan. In the Babri Masjid demolition case, CBI has accused people like former BJP president LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Sadhvi Ritambhara, Mahant Nrityagopal Das. However, all these leaders are currently out on bail.
Let us tell you, the CBI court had earlier said that Kalyan Singh, who was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh at the time of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992, could not be called as an accused to face trial, because under Section 361 of the Constitution Governors have constitutional exemption. Under Section 361 of the Constitution, the President and Governors are exempted from criminal and civil matters during their tenure. According to this, no court can issue summons to the President or Governor in any case.
