Panaji: The standoff between the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) and Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) continued on Friday, with GWMC at Saligao refusing to accept CCP’s truck of wet waste, while CCP responded by not permitting any sewage tankers from the North Goa belt to release its sewage at the treatment plant at Tonca.

Late evening, waste corporation wrote to CCP and Taleigao panchayat agreeing to accept waste at Saligao plant.

“The CM has personally intervened in the matter and has cleared the file,” mayor Uday Madkaikar said.

Since Monday, there was a standoff between CCP and waste corporation.
