Chandigarh: 2 arrested with ganja, banned vials

CHANDIGARH: Police arrested two drug peddlers with ganja and banned injectable vials in the past 24 hours.


Police said the accused are Anoop Kumar, a resident of Hallomajra, and Rakesh alias Raju, a resident of Sector 40.

A team of operations cell, Sector 26 was patrolling at Ram Darbar, when the accused was coming towards the police check post while carrying a bag.

As he noticed the cops, he turned around and tried to flee. Cops chased and caught him. Cops claimed they recovered 3kg ganja from his possession.

Second accused Rakesh was arrested by the Sector 39 police from Palsora. Police said they laid a naka near Pingalwara in Palsora. The accused was coming towards the naka. As he saw the cops, he changed his direction and tried to flee. Cops stopped him and during his search recovered 16 banned vials of Buprenorphine & Pheniramine Maleate drugs from his possession. Cops seized the vials and arrested him. Police on Sunday, produced both accused in district court, which sent them in judicial custody for 14 days.
