Chennai hospital inaugurates centre for dry eye syndrome

CHENNAI: Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Porur introduced a comprehensive suite of cuttingedge technology for the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye syndrome. Minister for fisheries and personnel and administrative reforms D Jayakumar inaugurated the facility on Saturday.

Dry eye is a condition in which a person doesn't have enough quality tears to lubricate and nourish the eyes.
The suite comprises diagnostic and treatment systems designed to stimulate, restore, and maintain normal secretion of tears in the eyes.

The minister said Chennai has established itself as a top medical destination in the country for all specialties including ophthalmology, thanks to the presence of quality-conscious healthcare institutions. High-end technologies and human expertise are key to boost the effectiveness, quality, and also the affordability of their healthcare services.
