Chhattisgarh: 230 test Covid-19 positive, tally nears 6,000-mark

RAIPUR: Coronavirus cases continue to rise as 230 tested positive on Wednesday. While 116 patients were discharged following their recovery.

As per medical bulletin, of these 230 fresh cases — 70 have been reported from Raipur , 36 from Sukma, 28 from Durg, 15 from kanker, 13 from Janjgir-Champa , 11 from Mungeli, nine each from Bijapur and Raigarh, seven from Bilaspur, six each from Gariyabandh and Bastar, five from Narayanpur, three each from Bemetara and Mahasamund, two each from Rajnandgaon, Balod Kondagaon and one each from Surajpur, Sarguja and Jashpur .



This has increased the state ally to 5,968 with 1,709 active cases and 29 covid deaths (including comorbidity cases).

Meanwhile, Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) in coordination with health department conducted a free of cost antigen covid testing camp in zone nine near VIP Estate. As many as 29 residents turned up the were tested negative.

To ensure the strict adherence to the restrictions, Raipur Police conducted flag march in Raipur and Birgaon Municipal Corporation area on the first day of lockdown. On this flag march of Raipur Police, who took to the streets with armoured vehicles and commandos, Collector Dr S Bharatidasan, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav, and other administrative officials advised people to stay at home through loudspeakers.
