Chirag Paswan appointed LJP's new chairman, father Ram Vilas to play role of mentor

Patna: In Modi government 2.0, Chirag Paswan, son of Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, has been made the new national president of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). This decision was taken at the LJP's national executive meeting held in Delhi. The meeting of the National Executive of LJP was held at the residence of Ram Vilas Paswan, located at 12 Janpath.

After Chirag Paswan was made president, Ram Vilas Paswan will take over as the mentor of LJP.

The Lok Janshakti Party was founded by Ram Vilas Paswan in the year 2000. Chirag Paswan is an MP from Jamui Lok Sabha seat of Bihar for two consecutive terms. Chirag Paswan, 36, started his career by acting in films. His films were a failure at the box office. In 2011, Chirag acted in the film 'Mile Na Mile Hum'. He came into politics after failing in Bollywood. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, he won from Jamui seat by more than 80 thousand votes. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections too, he won the second time from Jamui seat and reached Parliament.

Chirag Paswan was born on 31 October 1983 in Khagaria district of Bihar. He got his 10th and 12th education from the National Institute of Open Schooling, Delhi. After this, he took admission in BTech Computer Science at Bundelkhand University Jhansi. In between, he left for Mumbai, where he tried his luck in modeling and films. Chirag Paswan also runs an NGO called Rojgar Rojgar, which works for providing jobs to unemployed youth of the state.
