Chittoor cops hold cordon and search operation

Tirupati: Following the orders of Chittoor superintendent of police CH Venkata Appala Naidu, special teams led by station house officers conducted cordon and search operations at several mandals and villages under Chittoor and Madanapalli sub-divisions on Sunday.

Led by deputy SP K Eshwar Reddy, over 150 police personnel conducted cordon and search operations in Gudipala mandal, situated near the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu border.

The cops shifted 39 suspicious motorbikes to the nearest police station and later seized 25 of them for lacking proper documents.

To keep a tab on the movement of suspects and criminals, Madanapalli sub-division police started a cordon and search operation in different areas under the town.

“More than 200 police personnel from the district police wing were deployed in the operation. The cordon and search operations will help police in preventing and detecting crime and maintain law and order. These operations also inculcate a sense of social responsibility among citizens,” he added.
