Chittorgarh man held with 304 gram opium in Kurukshetra

KURUKSHETRA: The CIA-2 of the Kurukshetra police arrested an accused identified as Shambhu Lal of Chatawati village in Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan after recovering 304 gram opium from his possession from near Sabji Mandi on Hinori road in Ladwa of Kurukshetra district on Friday night.

Following the recovering, on the complaint of a police official, a case under Section 18 and 61 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Ladwa police station to start the investigation.



As per the FIR, the police party was patrolling under limits of Ladwa police station when they spotted a person walking from Badarpur village side who turned back after seeing the police and was held on suspicion. While checking, the police recovered 304 gram opium from the possession of the accused Shambhu Lal who was presently living in Dera Ladwa on Samalkha road.

CIA-2 in-charge Malkiat Singh said, “On Saturday, the accused Shambhu has been presented before the court which has granted police remand for three days and further investigation is being done.”
