Churu collector fines hotel Rs 3.22 lakh for illegal water connection

Churu collector Sandesh Nayak on Sunday imposed a penalty of Rs 3.22 lakh on a hotel named Blue Star at Taranagar area, for having an illegal connection of water.

PHED senior engineer Ramkumar Jhajriya said that collector Nayak had inspected the area on June 14. “After the inspection, it was found there was an illegal industrial connection of 25 MM at the hotel.

The connection at the hotel was snapped for the third time after the inspection. The collector had directed to disconnect the supply of water as the connection was illegal and imposed a penalty,” said Jhajriya. Among others who were penalised for illegal domestic connection of water at Taranagar area were Dungar Singh for Rs 44,000 and Balwan Jaat for Rs 12,320. tnn
