City football team enters School Games semi-finals

Ludhiana: With their best performances, four football teams — Ghudda Wing, Paldi Wing, Bhaddo Wing, and Ludhiana — on Sunday entered the semi-finals of the Punjab State School Games being played at Guru Nanak Stadium.

In the quarter-final matches played on Sunday, PIS Mahilpur Wing lost to Ghudda Wing by 0-1 in the first match of the day.

In the second match, the players of Bhaddo Wing smashed two goals against Moga, winning 2-0 to secure a berth in the semi-finals.

In the third quarter-final, played between Phagwara Wing and Paldi Wing, the latter snatched victory by 2-1. In the fourth match of the day, Ludhiana and Amritsar had a neck-to-neck competition. The match between the two ended in a tie (4-4), but in the tie-breaker round, Ludhiana managed to get into the semis by adding a goal to the score tally. The semi-final matches will be played in the stadium on Monday.
