Close shave for Tatanagar-Alleppey Express passengers

Rourkela: The passengers of Tatanagar-Alleppey Express had a lucky escape on Sunday thanks to an alert lineman. The train was halted after the lineman Ramashraya Das raised an alarm after detecting cracks on railway tracks near K cabin at Bondamunda diesel colony in Rourkela. Following the detection of cracks, the movement of trains has been suspended on the route.

Senior officials of the railways and other technical teams rushed to the spot and steps are now being taken to repair the tracks.

Sources said the tracks are being repaired on a war footing to facilitate resumption of train services on the route. Subsequently steps will be taken for replacement of the railway tracks, railway officials said.
