CLP to write letter to Vigilance Commission on Kaleswaram project tenders

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has decided to write a letter to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) on the issue of invitation of tenders for kaleswaram irrigation project by Chief Minister KCR led state government today.

CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that they would raise the issues like the financial status of the state and Kaleswaram lift irrigation project.

Citing that the state is already under the burden of ₹3.21 lakh crore debt, he wondered if there was any need to invite Kaleswaram project tenders for ₹21,000 crore . He alleged that CM KCR was targeting media organisations and opposition political parties to divert their attention from the actual facts related to the state. He said that the retired government engineers association of the state was also opposing the decision of the state government to invite the tenders.

Speaking to media persons, He said that the any kind of irrigation work in the state would put an additional burden of ₹8000 crore on the state government. Commenting on the issue of the opening of liquor shops in the state, he said that the decision of the state government had wasted all the hard work put up by the doctors, police and sanitation staff of the state to contain the spread of the corona virus. He mocked that the state government was selling the liquor by keeping police protection at all the liquor shops when the deadly coronavirus was wreaking havoc on the state.  He asked if the state government wanted the boozers to die with coronavirus.

Former minister and Manthani MLA D. Sridhar Babu alleged that the state government was not conducting any kind of test on those who are involved in sand transportation while noting that those involved in the sand mining are prone to coronavirus infection. Targeting  central government he alleged that the Center had shrugged off its hands by announcing a package of ₹1.70 lakh crore. He alleged that the central government had ignored the suggestion of their party leader Rahul Gandhi to provide a financial assistance of ₹7500 to all poor families of the country . He said  that the party was condemning the proposed decision of the central government to take away of the powers of state governments by introducing the electricity amendment Act bill 2020.
