CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan's appeal: Offer Eid namaz at home, take precautions

BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan appealed to Muslims to offer Eid prayers and celebrate the festival at home. While doing so the social distancing norms must also be strictly adhered to, he said.

Reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the state on Friday, Chouhan also said from now on no passes would be required for travel between green zones.

He asked the chief secretary to issue necessary instructions so that people are not unnecessarily stopped.

During the review of Mandsaur district , Chouhan warned the officials of strict action for lapses and said the spread of Corona infection must be stopped. Mandsaur reported 23 new Covid positive cases in the last three days. Likewise, he told the officials in Singrauli over video conferencing to exercise extreme caution and take measures for contact tracing of positive cases. "Testing and contact tracing and isolation is the key, do not let the infection spread," he told the officials.

He also stressed on compulsory health screening of every migrant workers in Rewa district. The Rewa collector informed that about 55,000 migrant workers have reached the district, so far of which 26 tested positive for Covid-19. One patient has been discharged while others are hospitalised, he informed.

At the meeting, additional chief secretary, health and family welfare Mohammad Suleman informed that 189 new cases were found in the state on Friday, while 246 patients recovered and were discharged. He informed that there are about 2,809 active patients in the state and no new cases have been reported from Narsinghpur and Katni districts while the districts of Agar-Malwa, Alirajpur, Anuppur, Chhindwara and Harda have become free of Corona virus infection.

Additional chief secretary coordinating the return of migrant labrourers informed that till date 119 trains have been used to bring the stranded migrants.

He said that about 5.10 lakh workers have being brought by trains and buses. Of these, 3.5 lakh workers have been brought by buses while the same number of workers from others states stranded in MP has been sent back to their native states.
