Come up in Hoshiarpur, Bathinda: Handicraft clusters

To advance handiwork and reinforce the customary business, the state government would create crafted works group in Hoshiarpur and Bathinda.

Endeavors would be made to restore wooden decorate workmanship in Hoshiarpur at an expense of Rs 1.42 crore. The work on the groups would begin from the following month and cutting edge machines would be set up at Boothgarh town in the locale.

Bureau Minister Sundar Sham Arora stated, “Hoshiarpur had a particular character identified with ivory decorate cutting and wooden trim workmanship. After a prohibition on ivory, plastic was utilized for cutting. The state government has framed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to restore this industry.”

He stated, “Under this plan, 25 percent consumption will be brought about by the SPV and 75 percent by the state government.”

Arora said towns, including Boothgarh, Bassi Ghulam Hussain, Basi Mudka, Piplanwala, Bajwara Chhota, Bajwara Bada, Chhawni Kalan, Nangal Shahidan, Navi Bassi, Salwara, Bassi Kikkaran, Adamwal, Kakkon and Navi Abadi, would be a piece of the group. Around 150 families from these towns would exploit this bunch.

He said hardware identified with wood decorate, including CNC machine, switch machine, board saw, laser machine, wood saw machine and planer, would be introduced.
