Cong dharna at Raj Bhavan against BJP's 'power-grab' in other states

Ranchi: Congress supporters staged a demonstration outside Raj Bhavan here on Monday, accusing rival BJP of trying to de-stabilise elected governments in opposition-ruled states. The protest was led by Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Rameshwar Oraon.

Addressing the protesters, Oraon said, “While the nation is battling the Covid-19 pandemic, BJP’s sole focus has been on unseating elected governments.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has time and again failed the country. At a time when the creation of jobs and revival of the economy should be the prime focus, BJP is busy engaging in misadventures.”

Oraon added that in the last six years, the NDA government under Narendra Modi has also destroyed all central agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate.

State rural development minister-cum-Pakur MLA Alamgir Alam said, “The guardians of our Constitution must stop the nefarious attempts of BJP from succeeding.” Alam accused Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra of playing into the hands of BJP. Health minister Banna Gupta said, “BJP’s obsession for power is such that when it fails to win elections, it tries to form government through horse-trading and other corrupt means.”
