Indore: Reporting another twist in the tale, MP Congress Committee on Tuesday assigned Indore district in-charge Mahendra Joshi additional responsibility of the party’s city wing.
The step came a day after the organization on Monday put the appointment of former corporator Arvind Bagdi as its Indore city president on hold, which the ‘outgoing’ Vinay Bakliwal claimed as revival of his tenure.
In its orders released on Tuesday, Rajiv Singh, vice president organization in-charge of MPCC, mentioned that on the directions of MPCC chief Kamal Nath, Mahendra Joshi has been authorized for taking care of the activities of city president and also coordinate and organize party events including ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo’ Campaign, and flag hoisting programme on January 26.
According to Joshi, the senior Congress leaders will soon take the decision over appointing a new city president and till then, he will manage all the affairs of the party’s Indore wing office.
“Party has authorized me to take care of the responsibility of the city congress president,” he said. TNN
