Congress releases second LS list; Raj Babbar to contest from Moradabad, Priya Dutt from Mumbai North-Central

New Delhi: The Congress released its second list of 21 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Wednesday. The grand old party fielded its Uttar Pradesh chief Raj Babbar from Moradabad, ex-Home minister Sushil Kumar from Solapur, Priya Dutt from Mumbai North-Central and Union minister Sriprakash Jaiswal from Kanpur.

In the second list, 16 candidates were fielded from UP and five from Maharashtra.

It is interesting to note that Priya Dutt in January wrote to Congress president Rahul Gandhi saying she doesn’t want to contest the Lok Sabha elections. But earlier Wednesday expressed her desire to take the plunge.

So far Congress has declared 36 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections polls, which will be held in seven phases starting April 11. The last phase of the election is scheduled for May 19. The counting of the votes is on May 23.
