Constable among twoheld for Jalore murder

Jodhpur: Cracking a murder case, Jalore police on Friday arrested two persons including a female constable. One of the accomplices, her brother, who is also a constable in Sirohi, is absconding. All three had murdered one Bhajanlal Bishnoi and made it appear like a road accident.

SP (Jalore) Kesar Singh Shekhawat said that initially, it appeared to be an accident but on investigation of the case followed by the complaint of the victim’s family members, it turned out to be a planned murder.

“We have arrested a female constable Shravani Bishnoi and the vehicle driver Ashok Bishnoi for murdering Bhajanlal. Her brother and constable with the Sirohi Police, Suresh Bishnoi is absconding and the search for him is on,” said Shekhawat. It turned out during the investigation, that Shravani and the victim Bhajanlal had an affair. But she distanced herself from him after her selection in the police service. “Upset over the negligence, Bhajanlal made the photographs and videos of the couple viral on social media,” the officer said.

Annoyed with this, Shravani in connivance of her brother, Suresh decided to eliminate Bhajanlal and hatched a plot under which, they created a fake facebook account in the name of Suman and honey-trapped Bhajanlal, who worked in Punjab. “After doing this, they called Bhajanlal on a pre-determined spot, Bhinmal-Bagoda Road on April 18 and hit him with a vehicle killing him on the spot,” Shekhawat said.

For this, they engaged the vehicle of one Ashok Bishnoi in the name of election duty and attempted to forge documents of the vehicle to give an impression that it was possessed by some one else.

“During the probe, we found that the victim had relations with a woman and this woman turned out to be Shravani,” Shekhawat said. He said that Suresh had gone to Hanumangarh on election duty but disappeared from there on learning about the cracking of the case and arrest of his sister. “We have been searching for him. After his arrest, more details could be obtained,” Shekhawat said.
