Constable held taking Rs 7,000 bribe

Palanpur: A head constable was arrested on Friday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 7,000 at Santalpur town of Patan district late on Friday by the ACB sleuths from Banaskantha. The accused, Ahmedkhan Malek, had demanded Rs 10,000 for releasing two dummy candidates who had appeared in the university examinations at Santalpur college.

Malek wanted Rs 20,000 from the complainant, but later settled for Rs 10,000, of which, he got Rs 7,000. TNN
