Cop held for taking bribe

Sirohi ACB team arrested a police constable in Barmer for taking a bribe of Rs 5,000. The accused worked at Sindhari police station and is being inquired. According to sources, ASI Prem Kumar and constable Dalu Ram demanded Rs 12,000. Shrawan Kumar, the complainant, had already paid Rs 7,000.

4 escape from juvenile home in Bharatpur: Four inmates escaped from the juvenile home in Bharatpur on late Saturday night.

They apparently removed a window wire mesh and escaped from the building and attacked the guards before fleeing. Although police have started a search for the runaways, they are yet to be found.

Study by SMS Hosp docs receives award: A study conducted by doctors of SMS Hospital on patients with increased blood sugar levels without diabetes previously among chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), was awarded at the 24th Internal Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR 2019), Hanoi, Vietnam on Sunday. The study was conducted in the department by Dr Kashish Gupta under guidance of Professor Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Professor Raman Sharma. The study pointed out that COPD is a very common respiratory disease and is one of the major causes of death in Rajasthan. It is mainly caused by smoking and aggravated by infection and environmental pollutants.

Min inaugurates statue of Chandra Shekhar Azad: Health and Family Welfare minister of Rajasthan Raghu Sharma inaugurated a statute of Chandra Shekhar Azad at Mohabbat Nagar in Sirohi district on Sunday. He said that Chandra Shekhar Azad was an eminent freedom fighter of the country who sacrificed his life for the nation. This statue will inspire youth to work for the nation, he added. Sharma promised that he would work to uplift Mohabbat Nagar and Sirohi like other leaders of Congress party.
