Couple killed as dumper hits bike
Kanpur:A couple was killed in a road accident after a speeding dumper hit their two-wheeler in Bidhnoo police station area on Saturday.
Pradeep Sharma, 50, and his wife Shashi, 35, were killed in the mishap. Bidhnoo police said the driver of the dumper fled along with the vehicle after the accident.
“We are trying to collect inputs regarding identity of the driver besides the registration number of the vehicle,” said SHO Bidhnoo Anurag Singh.
According to the police, Pradeep, a businessman who lived in Padri Lalpur area of the district along with his wife Shashi, was on his way to Cardiology hospital of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial medical college on Saturday afternoon.
“When they were passing ROB near Shambhua area, a speeding dumper hit their vehicle. Even as the dumper driver fled along with the vehicle, the couple suffered serious injuries and died at the spot. Their bodies have been shifted to LLR mortuary,” said police.

Pradeep's family has registered a police complaint in connection with the accident. “Pradeep’s two sons who stay in Chennai have been informed about the tragedy,” said police.
SHO Bidhnoo said they had registered a case against the unidentified driver of the truck under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
