Covid-19: Telangana's case tally crosses 80,000, toll at 637

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Monday recorded 10 deaths and 1,256 new cases of Covid, as rising cases from districts for the past several days pushed the caseload to 80,751.


While the total number of Covid-19 death toll stood at 637, a total of 57,586 patients have recovered from the virus, but the active cases rose to 22,528 on Monday.

Among districts, GHMC recorded 389 new cases on Monday while Ranga Reddy recorded 86, Sanga Reddy recorded 74, Karimnagar recorded 73, Adilabad 68 and Warangal Urban recorded 67 new cases. All districts in the state, except Komarabheem Asifabad recorded new cases on Monday. Asifabad is the only district which has not seen new cases in three days over the last week. Four government facilities in districts had zero bed availability on Monday.

Facilities which exhausted their full capacity included district hospital Kothagudem, community health centre Narayankhed, Government general hospital Suryapet and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital Warangal. Other low bed strengths include community health centre Alair, Government General hospital Nalgonda and district hospital in Nagarkurnool. Overall bed occupancy in government hospitals stood at 29 percent while bed occupancy in private hospitals stood at 61percent on Monday.
