Covid claims 6 more in Assam, DGP tests +ve

GUWAHATI: The Covid-19 death toll in Assam has climbed to 151 after six more patients died on Monday. On the other hand, in the last 24 hours, 1123 new cases were confirmed, including DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.


The top cop has gone for home isolation. Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted that the six Covid deaths on Monday include a 52-year-old from Sonitpur, a 70-year from Karimganj, a 58-year from Dibrugarh and a 68-year-old, a 26-year-old and a 65-year-old from Kamrup (Metro) district.

In the last 24 hours, 1,174 other patients have recovered and discharged from hospitals. There are now 16,358 active patients in various hospitals of the state.
