Cuncolim council head faces no-trust

MARGAO: Eight of the 12 councillors of the Cuncolim Municipal Council (CMC) have moved a no-confidence motion against chairperson Lavita Mascarenhas.


The signatories have cited the chairperson’s failure in taking all councillors into confidence over various issues, inability to bring about development in the town, failure in putting in place any effective solid waste management plan, poor administration, among others, as reasons for moving the motion.

The no-confidence motion has been sent to the directorate of municipal administration on Tuesday, panchayat officials said.
