DC Chamba apologizes, will investigate case of media bullying

Shimla: DC Chamba in the state has accepted his mistake and apologized. CM Jairam Thakur has given this information due to the conversation with the reporters in Dharamshala. The Chief Minister said, "the case of bullying of the media will also be thoroughly investigated." Significantly, DC Chamba had inscribed on the foundation stone plaque in place of the local MLA.

After the publication of the news exposing the mistake, the district administration of Chamba has come down on force.

The District Administration sent a notice through the District Public Relations Officer to a news report which was affected after its publication, and DC admitted the mistake and rectified it. Even after publishing the news with facts, there was an attempt to suppress freedom of expression.

On July 29, by publishing the news titled 'Sadar MLA' missing from the foundation stone plaque, due to the foundation stone of the multi-purpose facility near Deputy Commissioner Office Chamba, the information about the absence of Sadar MLA in the foundation stone was made public. The shocking thing is that in the foundation stone plaque where the name of MP Kishan Kapoor of Kangra-Chamba parliamentary constituency was there, but instead of the local MLA, the name of Deputy Commissioner Vivek Bhatia was written. The MP also questioned the absence of MLA. The same case is now being investigated.
