DCC prez asks govt to save churches, land

Rajahmundry: Gottimukkala Ajay Babu, the state president of Dalit Christian Council (DCC) demanded on Sunday that the state government take steps to protect churches and properties of Christians.

He called a meeting of Dalit Christian leaders on Sunday at Luthergiri in Rajahmundry.

Speaking at the meeting, Babu said that it has come to his notice that properties of the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church is being sold by church authorities illegally. “As per law, the church and society’s properties cannot be sold to individuals,” he said.

Ajay Babu further said that he will meet chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy soon and will bring the problems faced by Christians and demands of Dalit Christians to his notice.
