KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana reviewed the physical and financial achievements registered under various state and centrally sponsored schemes of health sector.

The meeting was attended by ACD Kishtwar, Anil Chandail, SDM Paddar Varunjeet Charak, CPO Kishtwar, Mohd Iqbal, CMO Kishtwar, Dr. Abdul Majeed, Dy. CMO Dr. Yaqoob Mir, SO Planning Ravi Kumar Sharma , BMOs besides concerned officers and officials of health department.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Abdul Majeed, while giving details of financial and physical progress in 04 medical blocks, informed that a total of 116 health institutions are catering to health care needs of over 2.60 lakh population of the district.

It was given out that apart from infrastructure development, out of 44,000 beneficiaries 29000 people have been covered under Ayushman Bharat Scheme wherein 18 people have been provided financial assistance and medical treatment.

The DDC was also informed that the work is on progress of 04 buildings of the health department under PM developmental project viz Additional 100 bedded hospital in District Hospital Kishtwar, Nursing College in Kishtwar, PHC Atholi and SDH Marwah.

DDC directed SDM Paddar and BMO Paddar to resolve the land issue of 25 bedded SDH at Atholi with further directions to CMO Kishtwar to remove bottlenecks if any so that work shall be started at an earliest.

It was further divulged in the meeting that in 12 Health Wellness Centres (HWC's) under Aysuhman Bharat the Mid Level workers have been posted their besides funds also stands released for construction Of infrastructure facilities and purchasing of medical equipments.

DDC directed CMO Kishtwar to ensure the completion of 12 HWCs in all respects by the end of June 2019.

In order to provide medical facilities to pilgrims of upcoming Machail Mata Yatra, CMO was directed to ensure the availability of essential drugs/ life saving drugs and essential medical equipments at Health centres/medical booths to meet any emergency.

Stressing on closed monitoring of the ongoing works, the DDC instructed for strict adherence to the typical design, drawing and specifications and use of quality material for creation of durable assets.

DDC directed the concerned officers to ensure the maintenance of work culture and punctuality in all the health institutions.

He stressed for giving due attention and care towards the sufferings of poor patients of rural areas and asked officers to play pivotal role while ensuring best health care facilities in rural areas.

He further lauded the efforts of medical fraternity for working with dedication and determination in accomplishing the desired achievement under MR vaccination programme, Plus Polio programme , Ayushmann Bharat and other immunisation programmes.
