'Dead body of minor girl dumped in Himachal Pradesh village, police cracked the case'

DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh police has cracked the case where a dead body of the girl was found in Chambi village near here rapped in a blanket on Saturday last week. The investigation trail by the police found that the girl was from Una district of state and had died in a government hospital at Kullu district.


Superintendent of Police, Santosh Patial, talking to TOI told that they have arrested a person Naresh Kumar (32) in this case who had dumped the body.

He said after the body was found the investigation officials were of the view that the vehicle had come from Kullu side as there were police check posts everywhere on other roads connecting the crime spot.

“This clue of check posts led us to crack the case” he said.

The girl was a resident of Una district from where she had fled with a male Naresh Kumar (32) who is also a resident of Haroli village in this district. He had been to Kullu allegedly due to his contacts there.

A case regarding abduction was registered regarding this in November 2018 at Una district, said police.

Patial said that investigation by his team revealed that on March 22 the deceased girl was admitted at Kullu government hospital after she developed abdomen pain and her blood pressure was considerably falling.

“Doctors have advised the male person accompanying the girl to shift her to a premier medical institute, but he kept her there and later the girl died” he added.

The girl was admitted at 2.15 am on March 23 and she had died at night around 9.00 PM, said Police.

There was no injury on the body but post mortem report is yet awaited in this case. The vehicle has been seized by the police from Indora area near Punjab borders and the accused was under arrest.

Records of this case has been sent to the Una where already a case has been registered against this accused.
