Delhi: After 11-day chase, youth accused of masturbating in front of girls in parks arrested

New Delhi: It seems there is no end to harassment of women and girls in the national capital. In a fresh case, the police have arrested a boy, who used to masturbate after seeing girls in parks at various posh localities in South Delhi. The accused has been identified as Mithun Banerjee.

The arrest came following an 11-day chase by Delhi Police.

The matter came to light after girls visiting Chitranjan Park in South Delhi complained about a boy masturbating after seeing them. 

According to a report, the boy had done similar criminal activities at parks in Alaknanda and Greater Kailash areas.

The accused boy was arrested by Chitranjan Park police. The police have also recovered obscene videos from his mobile phones.

According to police, three girls taking a stroll in Chitranjan park reported a youth doing objectionable activities. As the police were alerted about the incident, the youth fled from the spot. Police said they have zeroed in on the accused on the basis of the get-up reported by the victims to police. 

Police said the accused youth is a resident of 24 Parganas district in West Bengal. He was residing in Govindpuri area of Delhi for the last few years. On September 5, when he visited the park, the accused started masturbating after seeing the girls, said police.
 

Autorickshaw driver arrested for masturbating in front of female passenger

An autorickshaw driver was arrested in Mumbai after allegedly flashing and masturbating in front of a female passenger earlier this month. Police officers familiar with the case said that the incident took place on September 1 and a complaint in this regard was lodged with the police soon after.

On the basis of the complaint, Mumbai Police managed to track down and arrest the accused autorickshaw driver. The passenger who reported the matter further claimed that the incident took place near Chincholi Bunder bus stop on New Link Road when she was sitting in an autorickshaw being driven by the accused.

During the course of the investigation, police officers found out that the apprehended suspect is a habitual offender and has been named in multiple cases of molestation and public nuisance. More details are awaited in this regard as this is a developing story and a police investigation into the matter is still underway.
