Delhi: Second NDMC employee dies of Covid-19

NEW DELHI: Another New Delhi Municipal Council employee, a peon working at the headquarters, Palika Kendra, succumbed to Covid-19 on Wednesday. In the past nine days, the civic body had reported 43 Covid-positive cases, including eight new ones on Wednesday.

The peon, who worked on the sixth floor of the headquarters, tested Covid-positive on May 26.

On Monday, a 31-year-old sanitation employee (beldar) working at the Netaji Nagar drainage service centre had died of the infection.

"After treatment at Ayushman Hospital, Dwarka, he was shifted to the Najafgarh quarantine centre. He came to office till May 22 and was working with the accounts department," said an official.
