Digvijaya gets 3 tough seats to pick from

BHOPAL: Congress veteran and former MP CM Digvijiya Singh has reportedly been given a choice of three seats from which to pick one from where he wants to fight the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

But far from convenience, the battle-hardened warhorse would be seeing a contest where he can hardly hope to take it easy as the three seats are saffron bastions — Bhopal, Indore and Vidisha — where Congress hasn’t won in 30 years.

On Saturday, MP chief minister Kamal Nath said, “Digvijaya Singh will choose which seat he wants to contest from. I have requested that he should contest from the toughest seat.”

While Nath did not name the seats, Congress workers want Singh, at present an RS MP, to contest either from Bhopal or Indore. His supporters though say he would have preferred Rajgarh — which he represented in early 90s. But Congress is in no mood to give easy seats to its senior leaders.
