Digvijaya Singh seeks blessings of Shankaracharya before starting poll campaign

BHOPAL: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday evening met Shankaracharya of Dwarka Sharda Peeth Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati and took his blessings before launching his campaign for Lok Sabha elections in Bhopal .


Digvijaya Singh was accompanied by Speaker of the state assembly NP Prajapati and former minister Rameshwar Neekhra.

He is scheduled to reach Bhopal in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Singh met his spiritual guru at the Jyoteshwar ashram near Gotegaon in Narsinghpur and spent more than 40 minutes there. He spent some time talking to the Shankaracharya alone behind closed doors. After the meeting, he left for Bhopal by road.
