Diljit Dosanjh Recalls The Time People Assumed He Had A Private Jet

Badshah and Diljit Dosanjh‘s episode on Koffee With Karan was one of our favourite ones from season 6. It was refreshing to have two stars from the music industry on the couch, which hasn’t really happened before. The boys’ candour won them the ‘Best Episode Of The Season’ award and Diljit even bagged the ‘Best Male Debut’.

While on the show, Karan asked the actor-singer to clear the air about his alleged private jet, to which Diljit replied:

Hai nai, ab chaiyea. (I don’t have but now I want.)

He recalled how this misunderstanding came into being. It so happened that Diljit was approached for a Punjabi film while he was in Mumbai shooting for another show. The film had to be shot in Rajasthan but that particular location didn’t have an airport facility. This made travelling back and forth from Mumbai a tedious process.

In order to avoid missing Diljit’s available dates, the film’s producers offered him a private plane to fly back and forth from Mumbai to Rajasthan. That’s when everyone assumed that he owned a private jet. He even received a call from his chartered accountant inquiring about the about the details of this particular asset.

Diljit recalled his CA asking him:

Sir, vo kahan khada kar rahe ho aap jahaj? Aur fir pilot ki tankhuah? (Where do you park it and how much do you play the pilot?)
