Dimapur Naga Student's Union hoists native flaga on Independence Day




The Center's Modi government removed several provisions of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, following which the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) on Wednesday hoisted the Naga national flag celebrating the 73rd Naga Independence Day in Naga-populated areas, including Myanmar.  Explain that on 14 August 1947, leaders belonging to various Naga tribes came together and hoisted their national flag at Kohima.  Let me tell you that Kohima is still the capital of Nagaland, which was given the state status in December 1963.  Indeed, it was in the form of a claim for the right to its independence after the transfer of power from the British to the hands of Indians.


 Naga Independence Day is celebrated every year, but this year its importance was increased due to the abolition of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir.  For this reason, the flag of Jammu and Kashmir has also become irrelevant.  However, NSF President Ninoto Awomi has said that there is no political message behind the unfurling of the Naga National Flag at 11 am in Naga Solidarity Park and other Naga populated areas in Kohima.
