Chandigarh: A disquieting incident has come to light from the Kaithal district of Haryana where efforts are underway in full swing to save the life of a newborn who was rescued from a drain by two dogs. Local police have confirmed that they have stumbled across CCTV footage showing the baby girl's mother throwing her into the drain, wrapped in plastic.

According to footage retrieved by police personnel, the incident took place at around 4 am on Saturday morning when cameras captured a woman walking towards a drain near the Dogra Gate in Kaithal. The woman can be seen throwing the child wrapped in plastic into the drain. Alerted by the sound of the wailing newborn, stray dogs in the area start barking and rush in the direction of the sound. The canines then pulled the child out of the drain.
