Donate Rs 10,000 for VIP darshan at Tirumala

TIRUPATI: Devotees will no longer need recommendation letters from ministers and babus for VIP darshan in Tirumala, as Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) plans to to do away with it.

Mooted by TTD executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal, the scheme is also expected to eliminate middlemen and touts, who charge exorbitant amounts to provide VIP darshan tickets.

The temple administration has given its nod to link VIP break darshan to donations by devotees to the newly-floated Sri Venkateswara Alaya Nirmanam (Srivani) Trust. The contributions received by TTD from pilgrim donors through this trust will be utilised towards construction of new temples and their upkeep.

TTD has already worked out the modalities to issue one VIP break darshan ticket to the devotee who donates 10,000 to the Srivani trust. If a family of five wishes to avail the tickets, they can now do so by donating 50,000. Besides the donation, devotees can also buy a VIP darshan ticket for 500 each.
