Dreaded inter-state gang of looters arrested: Ganjam

 

Berhampur (Odisha): A individual from a between state posse of marauders has been captured in Odisha’s Ganjam region, police said.

Sikandar Ali of Karnatakas Bidar region was captured at Gosaninuagaon Wednesday while endeavors are on to seize different individuals from the group, Berhampur Additional Superintendent of Police Pravat Routray said.

Ali was a piece of a nine-part group, engaged with episodes of grabbing and a progression of plunders in a few states.

The hoodlums used to approach older individuals in the mask of cops and encourage them not to wear gold adornments and rather keep the valuable things in their pockets.

In the wake of winning the trust of the people in question, the posse individuals used to grab away the adornments from them or supplant the resources with fakes, he said.

Ali was engaged with in any event seven instances of plunder in Berhampur between March 2018 and September 15 this year, Routray said.

Different individuals from the posse had a place with various states.

In the most recent episode, the group was associated with an occurrence of plunder at Dimaind Tank Road under Bada Bazar police headquarters limits September 15, police said.

As indicated by primer examination, the group was at first dynamic in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.
